Four types of Membership namely:

(1) Regular Member – must be a Private   practicing midwife with UNMC license

(2) Aspiring Member – a midwife planning to join private practice in future

(3) Associate Member – Individual well-wisher and not necessarily a midwife

(4) Corporate Member – Organizations & Companies supporting the cause of UPMA

 

Requirements for joining UPMA as a Membership

– Not less than 5 Years of experience in a public or missionary hospital

– Must have a License from the Uganda Nurses & Midwives Council

– Must have a clinic in the community

– Must be interviewed by Executive Committee of UPMA

– Premises must be inspected by Executive Committee of UPMA

– Must fill forms and attach 2 pp size photos

– Must pay membership dues
